“Come on son, what do you got to say, When everybody’s talking every day? What makes you think we’ll want to listen anyway? "You really think you can change anything? There’s nothing left, and you’ve got nothing to bring. Why do you bother when it doesn’t mean a thing?” Well I don’t know if that’s all true, But I know what I’ve got to do. I’ll take this life one day at a time, Because nothing’s going to push me across that line, Don’t need a place in anyone’s design. Making a run and having fun every day, Don’t really care what we’re throwing away, You change the world; I’ll just shut up and play. On the stage and under the lights, Not a thought for the rest of our lives, Everybody’s coming in and rocking through the night. Come in and tell me: what do you see? Don’t really care; we’re not changing a thing, So come on in and stop worrying what it means. Well I would hate to misconstrue, So I’ll tell you just what I’m here to do Is take this life one day at a time, Because nothing’s going to push me across that line, Don’t need a place in anyone’s design. Making a run and having fun every day, Don’t really care what we’re throwing away, You change the world; I’ll just shut up and play.

I hear a voice inside of me Inviting, inciting, our worlds are colliding, Drawing me to the edge of all that is yet to be. Lucid dreams of kingdoms burning A world engulfed in the final fight for humanity What does all this mean? I hear her calling unto me “Hear my word Take your vow Take hold of your destiny. Dreams untold In the clouds Become what you were born to be In the City of the Kings.” I feel a haunting presence standing next to me. “Come take this journey, I show you everything, Far beyond what you ever thought could be.” A thousand lifetimes stretched over endless galaxies. A blinding flash, crashing through the ending, “The battle rages, the time has come to lead” I stand before my destiny. “Leave your world Safe and sound Take hold of your destiny. Speak the word And Kings will bow, To the Edge of Forever you’ll lead In the City of the Kings.”

Staring out through the silence Misty dusk of this night Climbing high through the wind and rain To chase after the light In this place full of memory Going back to before Drawn back, drawn together To look across evermore In this world where everything is strange Torn away, and everything will never be the same Dark clouds just blowing in the wind And I try every day To make this right; I can’t walk away And I cry for the day When all these debts are paid But can I afford this price? Can this guilt be ever taken? Or am I wasting time? Dying day by day Can I forget this lie And face the truth of my own life? Look up and see that I’m living day by day I awoke in confusion I was lost and afraid Putting back all the pieces Without knowing where they lay Like a ship in the stillness Drifting on forever more I was waiting for a storm To push me to shore But in that world where nothing’s ever changed I’m still lost, and everything will always be the same But now a chance to escape If I don’t try every day To make this right, but just walk away I won’t cry one more day For what was never mine to pay So I must pay this price For all this guilt that I have taken Or go on wasting time Dying day by day I must forget this lie Embrace the truth of my own life Look out and know that I’m Living every day

Shadows dancing through a wood unchanged Save only now for me I hear the echoes of their laughter calling me Hard stone underfoot crushing softer dreams The sun sets on this new world But the shadows follow me When memories of days gone by Come crashing down under the weight of this new sky But still they push through every hole Echoes through that passage Are drowned out by the noise of a new beginning Of and end of another day where shadows fade The darkness opens many doors where shadows can come forth And walk among the men they have become And if I walk into that night and let them lead my mind Who knows what I may find?

Bravely you’ve come here Courage I see Brought forth through darkness An unending dream But all now for nothing For what can be gained? For in death may be honor But death still remains Look now before you What do you see? A life torn and shattered But an end not to be Blackness, madness, terror Are all that remain All life is this torment All that lives is this pain Hear them whisper Here you stand and here you lay Thoughts of old are far away Sanity this night will decay Here you’ve come and here you’ll stay No one sees us No one hears our cries Lost beyond the edge of reason The Edge of Forever Afraid of what is real I can’t tell Bright eyes ever watching Empty minds thick and veiled Then all goes quiet Light fills the sky From all around and from nowhere Madness that never dies It softly whispers Here you stand and here you lay Thoughts of old are far away Sanity this night will decay Here you’ve come and here you’ll stay No one sees us No one hears our cries Lost beyond the edge of reason The Edge of Forever Afraid of what is real
